Bake for 35 minutes or until the egg mixture has set. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Family walk
Rather than sitting inside all day and watching television, go outside and take a walk as a family. You can walk around the neighborhood, visit a park, or take a stroll on the beach. According to the American Heart Association, walking can lower your risk of diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. Even if it’s a short walk, spending quality time outside with your family is sure to spark interesting conversation, and keep your heart healthy!
Practice yoga!
Whether you’re a full-blown Yogi, or you’ve never stepped foot on a yoga mat, Mother’s Day is the perfect time to relax and practice yoga. Moms can spend time at a yoga center alone, or the whole family can join in and try it out. Yoga allows you to stretch, meditate, and practice breathing. Not only is it a fun activity, but according to the American Heart Association, it also helps lower blood pressure and can help prevent heart disease.
Homemade dinner
Although some restaurants provide great service, if you want a truly healthy meal this Mother’s Day, skip the hefty bill and have dinner at home. Most restaurants use deep fryers, frozen vegetables, and large amounts of salt. Cooking your Mother’s Day meal at home will ensure that the ingredients are fresh and healthy. Cooking at home is also a fun way to spend time with your loved ones.
Dark chocolate
Dessert just might be the best part of any holiday. But trying to stay healthy when picking out a delicious dessert can be tough. This Mother’s Day, skip the cake and opt for a piece of dark chocolate. Try mixing dark chocolate with a handful of fresh fruit or nuts for a flavorful and healthy dessert. Dark chocolate with a high cocoa content is packed with antioxidants, fiber, and potassium.
