Qardio has helped fund the development and delivery of a unique PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) solution that will be used in hospitals in Spain. The Decathlon mask has been adapted from snorkel equipment, so doctors and nurses can treat their patients without the risk of contracting Covid-19 themselves.
With a global shortage of PPE, finding alternative solutions has been essential to keep healthcare workers on the front line safe.
The mask, created by Spanish design agency, MOS, has been manufactured and deployed to supply hospitals in need quickly. It provides complete facial protection, is easy to disinfect and includes a filter for sanitisation.
Qardio CEO, Mark Prince, said: “Qardio is pleased to join Grifols, Scranton, MOS, Decathlon, Sadeca and Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, to support this initiative. We are all deeply indebted to the frontline healthcare professionals who have worked tirelessly to protect our health throughout the pandemic”.
